Healthy is a term used to describe any activity and an individual who is living a healthy lifestyle. This lifestyle can be used about diet, exercise, mental and physical preparation, and overall health. Some people want to be healthy but not always able to see it. Being healthy includes eating a balanced diet, taking proper exercise, and maintaining a mental and physical state of comfort. We live in a society that is built around the concept of six-pack abs, so we are faced with choices about what to eat, how much to eat, and how often we eat. The thinking is that if we stay away from saturated fats and other unhealthy foods, then we will look good.
The notion usually involves eating whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry, eggs, milk, and other animal products. These foods are not only nutritious, but they are also easy to digest and give the body ample amounts of nutrients and vitamins to keep it in good health. Foods that we should eat more of include whole grains, unsaturated fats, whole beans, fresh fruits, and vegetables. All of these things have been proven to improve our overall health and prevent chronic disease.
